Formed in 2001 by graduates of Tsinghua University, the band Shuimu Nianhua (Age of Water & Wood) gained fame with their debut album “Yi Sheng You Ni" (Life With You). After going through several changes in its lineup, it is now comprised of three Tsinghua alumni—Lu Gengxu, Miao Jie, and Chen Qiuhua. Over the years, the band has released 16 albums and has won many Chinese music awards.
After opening the concert with Tsinghua's school anthem, the band performed a number of songs and covers including “Song Bie,” “Qi Cheng,” “The Sound of Silence,” and “500 Miles.” The concert was brought to a climax when the trio played their hit song “Yi Sheng You Ni,” bringing back fond memories for many alumni. The concert came to a close as everyone rose and sang “My Motherland and I” as the final song of the night.
The concert was co-organized by Tsinghua SIGS and the Shenzhen Tsinghua University Alumni Association. It was undertaken by the Postdoctoral Branch of the Shenzhen Tsinghua University Alumni Association and sponsored by Tsinghua Technology & Innovation Holdings Co., Ltd.
