A passenger took the D2284 train from Shenzhen to Xiamen, Fujian on March 5. After getting off the train, he observed home quarantine but tested positive for nucleic acid on March 12.

This passenger arrived in Shenzhen on February 17. After a 14-day quarantine period in Shenzhen, he tested negative for the virus and caught the D2284 train from Shenzhen North Railway Station to Xiamen, passing Shenzhen Pingshan Station, Huizhou South Station, Shanwei Station, Puning Station, Chaoshan Station, Zhangpu Station, Zhangzhou Station.

Now the passenger is under quarantine and medical observation at a designated hotel. All close contacts in Xiamen have been placed under medical observation. Relevant provinces and cities have been notified to assist in the search of other close contacts.

Updates on COVID-19 cases in Guangdong
On March 15, Guangdong reported zero new case of confirmed infection with one new imported asymptomatic case while three patients were discharged from hospital. The asymptomatic case, reported by Shenzhen, came from Mozambique.
As of midnight yesterday, Guangdong has reported a total of 2,245 confirmed cases, including 849 imported cases.
